The Garden City Gin Cordial

MyBarIsOpen.com has released its next drink tutorial for “drinks to amaze”, the Garden City Gin Cordial. This amazing citrusy flavored cordial is complimented by the floral flavors of the Empress 1908 gin, and is perfect for the Spring and Summer seasons. Whether in your bar, or next to the pool, this cordial is extremely refreshing and colorful to the eyes.

For this cordial, we opted to use a tonic, also with floral notes, to add a little fizz to the flavor, and to enhance its ability to offer a nice and refreshing finish. You can garnish with a flower, or with a lemon or orange twist. Served in a high-ball glass with ice, a tall straw is optional but almost necessary with the use of a flower garnish.

The Garden City Gin Cordial

  • 1 1/2 oz Empress 1908 Gin
  • 1 oz Grapefruit Juice
  • 1/2 oz Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 oz Lychee Simple Syrup
  • 1 oz Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water
  • (Flower, or Lemon/Orange Twist garnish optional)

Shake grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and lychee syrup on ice. Strain from shaker into a chilled high-ball glass with ice to rim. Layer the gin into the glass, and top with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water. Garnish with Lemon or Orange Twist, or a flower.
